The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is responsible for support services in the delivery of care to operative patients, including transportation, inventory, restocking, administrative support, cleaning and assisting the Registered Nurse and patient in the Operating Room (OR).

Minimum Education Level: High School Diploma/GED

Minimum Field of Study: None

Preferred Education Level: Associate's Degree

Preferred Field of Study: None

Licensure Certification Needed: Yes

Minimum Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Minimum Licensure (Other): CNA not required for students who have completed nursing fundamental courses and are actively enrolled in nursing program (LPN, ASN, ADN, BSN). Must submit transcripts to department manager a minimum of twice per calendar year. Must provide authorization to test (ATT-NCLEX RN or ATT-NCLEX PN) schedule and pass the test within 90 days of graduation from nursing program, as appropriate.
