Job Description Security Officer Full Time Patrol Access Control in Roanoke, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control activities. You will deliver exceptional customer service while communicating professionally with employees, visitors, and leadership. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $16.20 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTimeTue04:00 PM - 12:00 AMWed04:00 PM - 12:00 AMThur04:00 PM - 12:00 AMFri08:00 AM - 04:00 PMSat02:30 PM - 10:30 PM What You’ll Do: Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location. Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures. Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access. Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized personnel and visitors, and maintain required logs and reports. Observe and report hazards, damaged property, suspicious activity, and policy violations to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership. Minimum Requirements: Customer service experience is preferred. Possession of a Guard Card or license is preferred. Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred. Access control and badge experience is preferred. Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
