Registered Nurse Operating Room

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in liver, kidney, heart, and lung transplantation, with a strong emphasis on surgical assistance during organ transplant procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care for patients undergoing organ transplantation, including but not limited to liver, kidney, heart, and lung transplants.
Utilize advanced surgical equipment, including Misonix/CUSA technology.
Participate actively in surgical procedures, ensuring the safe and efficient placement of organs into recipients.
Assist in other surgical cases as needed when there are no ongoing liver/transplant operations.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge on the latest surgical practices and organ transplant methodologies.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in liver/transplant nursing or Operating Room nursing.
Proficient in Misonix/CUSA and related surgical technologies.
Experience in organ placement in the recipient, not limited to harvesting.
Current certifications in ACLS and BLS (must provide at time of application).
NIHSS certification required before the start date.

Shift and Schedule

Day shift, 4 x 10-hour work schedule (07:00 - 17:30).
Will require on-call shifts as discussed during the interview process.
Minimum of 36 hours guaranteed per week, with potential for 40 hours.

Additional Requirements

The candidate must be nicotine-free; all travelers must pass a negative 10-panel drug test including nicotine.
All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront, as any changes may not be approved later.
