Maintenance Assistant
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Lilac Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing in Rochester, NY. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our buildings, equipment, and grounds. Responsibilities
Respond to maintenance requests, including leaky faucets, broken locks, and minor electrical issues
Perform routine inspections of doors, windows, lighting, and plumbing to identify wear or potential hazards
Complete basic repairs, including plumbing issues, replacing damaged tiles, or adjusting door hinges
Assist with minor upgrades, such as painting walls, mounting shelves, or installing whiteboards
Organize and maintain tools, equipment, and supply rooms to ensure quick access and clean work areas
Support other maintenance or janitorial staff with larger repairs or seasonal tasks
Follow safety procedures when handling tools, ladders, or cleaning chemicals
Document completed tasks and report recurring issues to supervisors
About the Role
As a Maintenance Assistant at Lilac Manor, you will work closely with our maintenance manager and facilities supervisor to ensure the efficient and effective maintenance of our facilities. Your attention to detail and strong work ethic will enable you to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
