Lease Accountant

Lease Accountant LEASE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Our client is seeking a Lease Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This is a unique, high-visibility role that sits at the intersection of accounting, finance, operations, and legal, offering exposure to key stakeholders across the business. The ideal candidate will have experience interpreting lease agreements, managing lease‑related accounting activities, and ensuring compliance across a large portfolio of leased locations. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate lease records and ensure timely rent payments Review and reconcile CAM, tax, insurance, and other occupancy-related charges Monitor lease compliance and track critical dates, including renewals, expirations, and terminations Interpret lease agreements and resolve billing discrepancies Serve as the primary point of contact between internal teams and external property partners Coordinate rent commencements, lease modifications, and lease terminations Prepare and review lease-related documentation and reporting Support process improvements and standardization of lease administration procedures Assist with special projects and provide insights related to lease obligations and costs Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred Experience in lease accounting, lease administration, or real estate accounting Strong understanding of lease agreements and related financial obligations Advanced Excel skills Experience with lease administration software or ERP systems preferred Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively across departments Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
