As a member of the largest pediatric heart program in the state, our team works closely with more than 200 interdisciplinary professionals dedicated to the care of children with life-changing cardiovascular diagnoses. In this unit, we care for patients along their continuum of acute recovery to provide for their changing physical and emotional needs as we prepare them to return home. We specialize in caring for children experiencing heart failure, after repair of congenital heart defects and heart catheterization, and before and after transplant. We routinely utilize extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and ventricular assist devices (VAD) in the care we provide. Our patient population requires hemodynamic monitoring, critical medication management, maintenance of systemic perfusion, and management of organ failure. Our team combines a highly technical skill set with a family centered approach. We value teamwork, open communication, safety and respect. Our team is committed to providing excellent care to our patients and families.Position SummaryThe patient care manager (PCM) has overall responsibility for ensuring that services and programs provided through their assigned department/unit is child and family focused, clinically appropriate, operationally efficient, and achieves effective patient outcomes. The PCM will directly manage RN staff and assist in leadership of clinical support staff.License/Certification/Registration:*Active RN on Minnesota Board of Nursing required*Current BLS requiredEducation: *Bachelor's degree in nursing requiredExperience: *3+ years of people leadership experience or advanced degree in nursing leadership in lieu of experience.*Informal leadership experience is preferred (charge RN, clinical educator, preceptor, etc.).Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: *Fundamental understanding of the business side of assigned department/unit (P&L, finance, budget, etc.).*Availability for on-call and off-hours rotations/situations as decided by department/unit. *Desired characteristics: strategic thinker, collaborative, seeks to understand, embraces continuous improvement, navigates through change, calm demeanor, positive attitude. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employee’s scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard.
