General Liability Attorney - National Law Firm

Our client, a prominent national law plaintiff's law firm, seeks an experienced litigation associate to join its growing team. This is an excellent growth opportunity for an attorney interested in being part of a trial-oriented firm devoted to strong client advocacy. The firm offers highly competitive compensation and benefits, starting at 100k+ and up depending on experience. This position is on-site in the firm's office in Detroit. The attorney will handle a heavy and complex case load from pre-litigation, litigation, trial prep and trial. Cases may include representing plaintiffs in slip and fall; security negligence; wrongful death; dog bite / animal attack; and other cases. Key Responsibilities Manage a docket of litigation matters from filing through resolution Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal memoranda Conduct legal research and develop case strategies Take and defend depositions, including fact witnesses and experts Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to drive case development Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years in a personal injury practice on either the plaintiff or defense side. Candidates must be able to demonstrate strong writing and research skills. Experience preparing for and participating in trials is strongly preferred.
