Occupational Health NurseWe are searching for an Occupational Health Nurse with the Texas Children's Employee Health clinic in The Medical Center - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll provide direct and telephone nursing care, health teaching, patient advocacy, supervision and coordination of care given by others, and the coordination of services required for patients outside the ambulatory care setting in a manner that is age and developmentally appropriate.As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.Think you've got what it takes?QualificationsBachelor's degree, associate's degree, or technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement required, or must be currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSNCurrent licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas or Nurse Licensure CompactBLS certification from the American Heart Association required1 or more years of RN experiencePrevious experience in Occupational Health, school nursing or ER helpfulProficiency in EMR software systems preferredResponsibilitiesConducts pre-placement health assessmentsProvides acute injury and illness treatment for non-occupational eventsProvides assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation follow-up of occupational injury or illnessProvides an employee immunization and testing programConducts wellness programs for employeesMaintains confidential documents of employee health recordsEvaluates effectiveness and scope of employee health servicesConducts medical surveillanceGathers research data related to Occupational Health nursing from employee records while maintaining confidentiality 100% of the time
