Manage day‑to‑day engineering operations, mentor teams, and work closely with the CTO to ship critical systems. 50% of the time spent writing production code, 50% managing people. Responsibilities Build and maintain scalable infrastructure for data creation and AI agent workflows. Ship production code and deliver high‑quality features. Lead, coach, and grow an engineering team; conduct code and performance reviews. Collaborate with product and platform teams to define and implement engineering best practices. Own hiring, mentorship, and performance management for direct reports. Qualifications 6‑10 years of experience building and maintaining platform infrastructure. Hands‑on full‑stack engineering with substantial coding experience in the last 2 years. Experience leading a team of engineers and conducting code reviews. Background in VC‑backed startup or large data‑scale platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Confluent). CS degree from a top‑30 US, CA, or EU university. Strong communication, ownership, and startup mentality. Willingness to work onsite in San Francisco 5 days a week. Compensation Base Salary: $300,000 – $400,000 per year. Additional Role – Security Engineer (Optional) Security Engineer role focused on infrastructure security and compliance. Security Engineer Responsibilities Develop and maintain security tooling for data pipelines. Prevent breaches and secure data in transit and at rest. Security Engineer Qualifications 4‑7 years of security engineering experience. Expertise in infrastructure security, cloud security, and compliance.
