Senior Application Developer

Role Description

The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including:

• Building management and maintenance
• Information technology
• Centralized contracting and procurement
• Budget and financial management
• Space planning and leasing
• Construction management
• Motor vehicle fleet operations
• Oversight of the state retirement systems

This position is with the Agency Services area of DTMB.

As a Senior Application Developer, the employee performs a complete range of information system analyst assignments including:

• Designing, developing, testing, and implementing computer systems and applications for Child Support Data Warehouse
• Providing technical support to other team members
• Evaluating new development tools and agency systems

The focus of the job is the delivery of business intelligence solutions to customers to facilitate informed business decisions. Responsibilities include:

• Mastering knowledge of business practices, workflows, performance indicators, and predictive factors related to the MICSES area of DHS
• Working with other data warehouse developers to review existing data warehouse policies and practices
• Modifying policies or practices as needed and proposing newly required policies

DTMB does not participate in STEM-OPT.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following:
  • Computer science
  • Data processing
  • Computer information systems
  • Data communications
  • Networking
  • Systems analysis
  • Computer programming
  • Information assurance
  • IT project management
  • Mathematics
• Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.

Requirements

• Possession of an associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in relevant fields and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; or
• Two years (4,160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.
• Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician, or four years (8,320 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.

Benefits

• This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500. Up to $1,250 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period).
