Pharmacy Technician

The Pharmacy Technician accurately fills prescriptions in a high-volume, closed-door pharmacy environment, preparing orders for pharmacist verification and shipment. This role requires strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of pharmacy workflow, and the ability to stand and walk for extended periods while consistently meeting hourly order targets.

Responsibilities

• Accurately fill 18–22 prescription orders per hour in accordance with established pharmacy procedures and safety standards.
• Prepare prescriptions for pharmacist review, ensuring all medications, quantities, and labels are correct before verification.
• Support the shipping process by organizing completed orders, packaging medications, and preparing them for timely dispatch.
• Follow pharmacy workflow and protocols to maintain efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail to minimize errors in medication selection, dosage, and labeling.
• Work on your feet for up to 8 hours per day, performing frequent walking within a warehouse-style pharmacy setting.
• Collaborate with a smaller team in a closed-door environment to meet daily production goals and service standards.
• Arrive promptly and adhere to scheduled work hours to support consistent pharmacy operations.

Essential Skills

• Licensed Pharmacy Technician in the state of Missouri.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of pharmacy experience, preferably in a retail or similar pharmacy setting.
• Proficiency in filling prescriptions and understanding standard pharmacy practices.
• Knowledge of pharmacy workflow and processes in a production or retail environment.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order filling and labeling.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day in a warehouse environment.
• Reliability and punctuality, with a commitment to meeting performance and accuracy standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working as a pharmacy technician in a retail pharmacy or closed-door pharmacy environment.
• Comfort working in a smaller, collaborative team setting.
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume filling warehouse.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy.

Work Environment

This role is based in a filling warehouse within a mainly closed-door pharmacy setting, working as part of a smaller team focused on accurate and efficient prescription processing. The position involves extensive walking and standing for up to 8 hours per day while working at pharmacy benches and in aisles. The environment is structured and production-oriented, with clear workflows designed to support high-volume prescription filling and shipping.

This is a Contract position based out of Chesterfield, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
