Target Security Specialist

Starting Hourly Rate / Salario por Hora Inicial: $22.00 USD per hour. Job Responsibilities Use intelligence‑led tactics to keep team members and guests safe and secure. Operate Target's video surveillance system and handle merchandise receipt checks to prevent theft. Respond to security incidents, document them promptly using the case management system, and leverage de‑escalation tactics. Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support as needed, strictly adhering to AP policies. Develop and maintain a physical security culture among team members and guests. Provide a friendly, helpful customer experience, including greeting guests within 10 feet & 4 feet, assisting them in locating items, and thanking them at checkout. Perform other duties based on business needs. Skills & Experience Minimum 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of operating handheld scanners, multiple‑frequency devices, and other technological equipment. Effective communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Capacity to remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment. Legal compliance with any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position. Physical & Practical Requirements Climb up and down ladders. Apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy. Lift or move merchandise up to 40 pounds without assistance. Work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other environmental conditions. Adequate mobility for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary). Available for a flexible schedule – nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
