At the YMCA, being a Senior Fitness Instructor isn't just about leading a workout - it's about inspiring confidence, building friendships, and helping senior adults live their healthiest, happiest lives.
Our instructors teach seniors exercise techniques that not only help them meet their fitness goals but do so in a safe, supportive, and fun environment!
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Planning and leading energizing, safe and educational group exercise classes.
- Creating a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels like they belong.
- Building effective, genuine relationships and creating community.
Our Senior Fitness Instructors find joy in every class, every smile and every small victory. They know they're not just leading workouts; they're creating moments of connection, confidence and celebration. Plus, they also enjoy:

TRAINING PROVIDED
If you don't have a current group exercise certification, that's okay. We will support you and help you develop your teaching potential.
