Exciting contract opportunity for a talented Special Education Teacher to work across both high school and elementary settings. This role will provide an engaging mix of teaching and behavioral intervention, supporting students and teachers in an onsite setting for the 2026-2027 school year.
Key Details:
- Begin August 25, 2026; conclude June 10, 2027
- Full-time schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm (37.5 hours/week)
- Split duties: 0.5 FTE as a High School Special Education Teacher (Anoka Crew, mornings) and 0.5 FTE as elementary Behavior Intervention Specialist (Champlin Crew, afternoons)
- As a BIS, support teachers in developing behavior intervention plans and provide consultation—does not involve managing your own caseload
Required Qualifications:
- Active Minnesota Teaching License (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably with both high school and elementary populations
- Strong background in behavior intervention and support planning
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt quickly between settings and roles within a dynamic school environment
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to high school students with diverse learning needs
- Serve as a resource for elementary teachers by crafting effective behavior intervention plans and providing ongoing consultation
- Collaborate with general educators, paraprofessionals, and support staff
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that meets both academic and behavioral goals
