An exciting contract position is available for an onsite Special Education Teacher who will balance time between high school instruction and the important role of Elementary Behavior Intervention Specialist. Split your expertise—mornings with a high school team, afternoons focusing on interventions in an elementary setting.

This school-based role blends instructional impact and behavioral consultation. As a Behavior Intervention Specialist, collaboration is key—partnering with classroom teachers to develop and implement effective behavior plans while providing ongoing support and guidance. Your knowledge will be foundational in shaping positive classroom environments and improved student outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Active Minnesota Teaching License (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
• Previous experience in special education or behavior intervention preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively with educators, families, and support staff
• Skilled in developing and implementing individualized education and behavior intervention plans
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities

Responsibilities:

• Instruct and support high school students in a special education setting during morning hours
• Serve as a Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) in elementary classrooms during afternoons (consultative—no direct caseload)
• Collaborate with teachers to design and monitor behavior plans
• Provide on-site consultation and coaching for effective intervention strategies
• Maintain documentation and contribute to team meetings as needed
• Work school hours Monday through Friday, approximately 7am-3pm, based on assignment needs
