Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented, collaborative Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This role is a key contributor to our month-end close process and plays an important part in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization. The ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates clearly across teams, and is eager to grow alongside a dynamic and fast-paced company. Beyond the technical work, we're looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and brings a solutions-oriented mindset. You'll work cross-functionally to provide actionable insights that help drive sound business decisions, while also jumping in on ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needs arise. This role is perfect for someone who wants to take ownership, grow their accounting expertise, and make a meaningful impact as Awardco's finance function continues to scale.


What you will do:

• Play an active role in the day-to-day operations of the accounting team, including owning key parts of the month-end close process
• Prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and conduct flux analysis as a core member of the close team
• Partner with the accounting team to identify opportunities for process improvement and help implement solutions
• Support the preparation and planning for the annual financial statement audit
• Contribute to the development of accounting policies and processes that will grow and scale with the business
• Collaborate cross-functionally to provide actionable financial insights that inform smart business decisions

What you will bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA or active progress toward certification preferred
• 0-2 years of accounting experience
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Comfortable leveraging AI tools such as Claude to improve efficiency and streamline accounting workflows
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
