About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Advancement Officer to lead and manage the strategic and operational aspects of fundraising, development, alumni relations, and marketing/communication efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a vision and direction for the company's advancement initiatives, overseeing the daily operations of the advancement office, and maintaining consistent processes to ensure the smooth functioning of all related activities. This role involves supporting the Head of School, acting as a key spokesperson, and working closely with the Board of Trustees Development Committee to execute fundraising efforts. The Chief Advancement Officer will also be tasked with identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major donors, as well as expanding the culture of philanthropy within the school community. Applicants for the Chief Advancement Officer position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree and CFRE preferred) and at least 10 years of fundraising experience, with a minimum of 5 years in executive leadership. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in major gift fundraising, capital campaign management, and the ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to the mission of independent schools, particularly those with a focus on scholarship, diversity, and spirituality. Key qualifications include integrity, sound judgment, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to manage a team and foster a supportive work environment. The Chief Advancement Officer is expected to be a self-starter, with a high level of energy, and to be actively involved in the life of the school beyond the primary responsibilities.
