Position Summary
Provides didactic laboratory and clinical instructional leadership for students enrolled in the Certified Nursing Assistant ( CNA ) / Nurse Aide Training Program. Responsible for delivering curriculum that satisfies State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs ( LARA ) requirements and prepares students to pass the Michigan Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation for state registration.

Minimum Requirements
Active unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan. State Instructor Credentials: Completion of a State of Michigan LARA -approved Train-the-Trainer program for Nurse Aide Instructors (or eligible for immediate state approval). Clinical Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse with at least one (1) year of experience providing direct care in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility ( LARA mandate). Healthcare Certification: Active American Heart Association ( AHA ) Basic Life Support ( BLS ) for Healthcare Providers certification. State Clearances: Must pass a State of Michigan Criminal Background Investigation ( CBI ) 10-panel drug screen and provide proof of required healthcare immunizations (TB Hep B MMR Varicella Tdap Flu).

Work Schedule
Varies based on course assignments and departmental need; may include day evening or weekend lecture and lab sessions
