Field Service Technician Trainee

Field Service Technician TraineeMazak Corporation is looking for a Field Service Technician Trainee to join the Western Service department. The Field Service Technician Trainee will participate in the Mazak Corporation's Field Service training program. Trainees will complete the program and on the job training to be able to install, maintain, and repair Mazak equipment. This position reports to the Western Technology Center in Gardena, CA. Duties involve overnight travel from home to various customer facilities, located primarily in the Los Angeles, CA area. Travel is required.Scope and Responsibilities: Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employeesSuccessfully complete Mazak Field Service training course and on the job trainingSuccessfully demonstrate ability to install and maintain Mazak equipmentDiagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software problems on machines and accessoriesTest operation of machines and accessories after completing installation or repairWork with and understand blueprints, electrical schematics, and job specifications as it applies to your craftLearn new machines features and accessoriesUse precision levels to adjust the base of Mazak machineryUtilize various test equipment for trouble shooting purposes, indicators, test bars, clamp force, gages, etc.Travel is required. Assignments will require overnight or multiple night stayEducation/Certification:High School Diploma requiredTrade school preferredSkills:Mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to quickly pick up on technical concepts.Strong Mathematical ability.Ability to read micrometersAbility to set up and read dial indicatorsUse a multimeter to safely check AC and DC voltagesGeneral Computer skillsAbility to lift up to 50lbs on a repetitive daily basis.Heavier lifting in excess of 50lbs on periodic basisAbility to problem solve depending on situation.Strong communication skills
