Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Position Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position is responsible for providing essential care to patients across a diverse age range, from neonates to geriatrics, within a hospital environment. This role operates in alignment with established standards, policies, and procedures to ensure quality patient care.

Essential Job Duties

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, oral care, feeding, toileting, ambulation, as well as turning and repositioning.
• Administer treatments such as ice packs and heat treatments under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Perform accurate intake and output, record daily weights, monitor vital signs, conduct fingerstick blood glucose testing, collect specimens, and provide postmortem care as needed.
• Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests.
• Adhere consistently to infection control practices while delivering patient care and maintaining cleanliness in the environment.
• Report any changes in patient conditions to the supervising Registered Nurse.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, coworkers, and visitors.
• Comply with organizational and regulatory policies regarding the handling of confidential patient information.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Successful completion of a nursing assistant course or equivalent experience.
• Certified Nursing Assistant certification required or to be obtained within four months of hire.
• Must hold and maintain Wisconsin Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within one month of hire.
• Preferred: 1+ years of related work experience.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail are required for this position.

Work Schedule

This position requires night shifts from 9:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with a commitment to working every third weekend and participating in a holiday rotation.
