As an Apheresis Registered Nurse, you will play a pivotal role delivering direct care to normal healthy donors undergoing blood and/or tissue collections in an outpatient setting. We offer an exciting and collaborative work environment where you can unleash your creativity and make a real impact.A Day in the Life of an Apheresis Registered Nurse at Discovery Life Sciences:Review the donor schedule, prepare collection equipment, and coordinate workflow with front desk and clinical staffPerform donor eligibility assessments, initiate IVs, conduct apheresis or blood collections, and closely monitor donor safety throughout proceduresEducate donors on the collection process, program expectations, and aftercare while delivering a high?touch, positive donor experienceMust-Have Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):Massachusetts Registered Nurse LicenseAssociate's degree or higher in NursingCurrent BLS/CPR certification1-2 years clinical nursing experienceExperience starting IVs is requiredExcellent customer service skillsPrior oncology, Apheresis, blood bank, or infusion experience preferred but NOT requiredStrong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Apps strongly preferredKey Responsibilities:Initiate, perform, and complete donor collection procedures according to specified policies and standard operating proceduresFollow established process flow to ensure customer orders are fulfilled and shipped timely.Perform and document pertinent assessments to establish donor eligibility and qualificationsProvide donor education as it relates to specific collection procedures ensuring the sustained reliability and safety of the donor base, this includes thorough explanation on collections process as well as reinforcement on commitment needed to program.Ensure donor safety including managing adverse events during collection proceduresActs as a resource person to other clinical team membersAbility to monitor daily schedule and coordinate daily workflow with front desk staff and perform all front desk duties as needed.Perform daily functions of the lead RN in the absence of the lead RN. Including, act as clinical point of contact during audits or clinical investigations.Lead continuous improvement of practices, processes and procedures to further donor satisfaction, compliance, documentation and efficiency.Ability to analyze diagnostic laboratory dataCompensation and Benefits:Discovery Life Sciences is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices, and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $45 - $52 per hour. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.
