Position Summary:
Responsible for administering employee leave of absence programs, benefits enrollment and management, and providing day-to-day HR support to employees and management. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees regarding benefits and leave-related matters while supporting various HR initiatives and employee engagement activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding leave requests and eligibility.
- Coordinate and administer all employee leave programs, including FMLA, CFRA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, pregnancy disability leave, personal leaves, and other applicable leave programs.
- Maintain accurate leave records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Communicate with employees, managers, healthcare providers, and third-party administrators regarding leave status and documentation requirements.
- Monitor leave timelines and facilitate employee return-to-work processes.
- Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, and retirement plans.
- Conduct benefits orientations for new hires and assist employees with enrollment and benefit-related questions.
- Process benefit changes due to qualifying life events and maintain accurate employee records.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment activities and employee communications.
- Liaise with benefit vendors and insurance carriers to resolve employee issues and questions.
- Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy within HR systems.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and employee engagement activities as needed.
- Perform general HR administrative duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 1-3 years of Human Resources experience required
- Knowledge of applicable employment laws and HR best practices.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
- Strong knowledge of leave administration and employee benefits processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
