EOE/AA Employer/Vets/Disability Position Overview The Senior Property Accountant will, under minimal supervision, perform accounting functions and duties for a portfolio of owned, managed, or joint-ventured residential properties. The Senior Property Accountant will actively participate in the preparation of the monthly financial statements and management reports for each property. The Senior Property Accountant will establish and maintain a working relationship with the properties and upper management. This is an on-site position performed from the Corporate office in Jersey City, NJ. Qualifications Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or business administration. The position does require ability to read and write English fluently, and the ability to perform basic intermediate to advanced mathematical functions. Experience: A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a real estate management environment along with senior accounting experience. Skills: The position requires excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to positively communicate with all levels of the organization and with parties outside the company. Additional requirements include: Able to prioritize tasks and projects using time management and organizational skills to achieve overall goals. Must be prepared to work with minimal supervision, yet consistently prepared to present results and status of projects. Strong written and verbal skills. Must be able to analyze data and supporting evidence to provide recommendations. Knowledge of real estate, commercial and multi-family industries. Must be flexible in a fast-paced and changing work environment. Must have knowledge of Yardi, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Able to work in fast-paced office environment Work Schedule: The corporate offices are open Monday through Friday with office hours between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. You will be required to work a 40-hour work week. However, due to the nature of our business, some flexibility relative to working extended hours, weekends and holidays to meet company needs will periodically be required. Travel: Although this position may be based at the location indicated above, the ability to travel to and work at other Company locations at the Company’s request due to business needs may also be required. Essential Job Functions Accounting: Preparation of work papers supporting the monthly financials, property budgets, annual property audits and tax returns Identify and implement systems or processes to maximize internal efficiencies, shorten reporting deadlines, and maintain integrity and accuracy of financial data Supervise and manage property accountants and other accounting staff Monthly close process, overseeing accounts and ledgers ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP and IRS standards, company policies and regulatory requirements Non-Essential Functions All other duties assigned by the Accounting Supervisor and other leaders of the company. #J-18808-Ljbffr KRE Group
