Location & Department UCHealth UCHlth Med Ctr of the Rockies, US:CO:Loveland Department: MCR CV Sonography Job Summary Performs echocardiogram procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and independent of supervision. Educate patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure the patient's understanding and cooperation. Set expectations for patient receipt of exam results. Independently perform echocardiography procedures on patients. Select and use transducers according to anatomy; differentiate normal and abnormal structures; assure that sufficient information has been acquired to provide diagnosis. Select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. When indicated, prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitor patient condition and report changes in status. Implement safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoot, resolve, and/or report equipment malfunctions. Analyze results and identify issues with the quality of imaging results. Enter, transmit and report scan results. Minimum Requirements Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography program OR Associate's degree in allied health OR a Bachelor's degree in any area. Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant life support certification as determined at position level. 1 year preferred experience. Registered Sonographer. Reg Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer. Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer. BLS – BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be valid through sixty days of hire.
