Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide direct nursing care to patients in a high-volume, Level II trauma and comprehensive stroke emergency department. Deliver compassionate, efficient, and high-quality care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and prioritize patient conditions upon arrival using standardized protocols and triage assessments.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures adhering to clinical policies and safety standards.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document patient information accurately in the Cerner system and update boards throughout shifts.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, procedures, and post-discharge care, utilizing AIDET principles.
• Maintain clinical competency by performing advanced procedures and staying current with emergency nursing protocols.

Qualifications:

• Current valid RN license with no restrictions.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as an RN, including at least 1 year in an emergency department setting.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS, and ENPC certifications current or obtained before start date.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume ED environment with a team-oriented approach.
• Flexibility to work all shifts, including every other weekend, with adaptability across ED units.
