Supervisor, Accounting

Job Overview Manages the maintenance of the organization's general ledger and accounting records. Under general direction, uses specialized knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to supervise and assist the team with the processing, auditing, and continuous process improvement initiatives. Works with business units and key stakeholders to ensure support, leading defined work or projects of moderate scope and complexity and resolving or recommending solutions to complex problems. Regular contact with senior management and business units to identify, research, and resolve accounting issues and problems. Key Responsibilities Supervise all team accounting efforts. Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure proper classification and integrity of information. Oversee and assist team with preparation of reports for management. Ensure internal controls and procedures are followed, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes–Oxley. Work closely with management to achieve organizational objectives. Maintain frequent communication with business units to discuss any changes in business practices, contracts, or agreements that may impact financial reporting. Provide professional support to associates, identify training needs, and approve development plans. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Implement changes to standard procedures when required by specific situations and circumstances. Work independently, make non-routine decisions and resolve complex accounting problems. Lead meetings and contribute to team efforts by ensuring all relevant information is included in the outcomes. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field and 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience in travel and expense management, corporate accounting, or finance shared services, including 1–2 years of supervisory experience. Equivalent combinations of experience, education, and training are acceptable. Preferred Qualifications Experience with corporate travel and entertainment (T&E) programs, including employee expense reimbursement processes and corporate card administration. Experience monitoring policy compliance, reconciliations, and reporting related to travel and expense activities. Previous supervisory, team lead, or people‑management experience, including coaching and developing associates. Licenses & Certifications Security Industry Essentials (SIE) exam required; exemption or grandfathering must be applied for. Series 99 or ability to obtain within 120 days (as required by FINRA) may be required depending on functional area. Work Experience General experience: 3 to 6 years. Manager experience: 13 months to 3 years. Certifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). Securities Industry Essentials Exam (SIE) – Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
