PCB Assembly SMT Line Set-Up Specialist

Opportunity snapshot

• Role type: Temp to hire
• Compensation: $16.00 - $18.00 depending on experience
• Schedule: 1st shift 7:00am - 3:30pm; 2nd shift 4:00pm - 12:30am (part-time available on 2nd)
• Training: Training will be on 1st shift for a few weeks
• Location: South Elgin, IL

Your mission

Prepare and stage materials and equipment for Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production, and keep machine operation smooth through meticulous setup and fast, accurate changeovers.

• Set up and tear down component feeders for SMT pick-and-place machines
• Stage feeders and materials for upcoming jobs
• Assist operators with machine changeovers
• Pull parts from stockroom and overflow locations based on pick lists

Qualifications to succeed

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ year of SMT equipment experience preferred
• Knowledge of electronic component identification
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and data entry)
• Familiarity with IPC SMT placement and soldering standards
• Ability to read and understand assembly drawings
• Strong organizational xhyhwjd skills, accuracy, and problem-solving ability
• Team-oriented mindset

Work demands and tools

• Ability to stand for long periods
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Machines & technologies: SMT Machine

You should be proficient in:

• Soldering
• PCB Assembly (Printed Circuit Board Assembly)
• Surface Mount Re-work
• Shop Math Skills
