About the Position
We are seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) for a full time, direct hire opportunity in Los Angeles, California . This on site clinic/private practice role involves providing comprehensive primary & preventive care across multiple clinic locations and community settings, including East Los Angeles and a Mobile Health Unit. The PA will care for diverse pediatric & adult populations and work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Job Responsibilities
• Obtain & document patient medical and social histories
• Perform physical assessments & develop treatment plans
• Order, interpret & review laboratory tests, imaging & diagnostic studies
• Provide primary & preventive care services
• Manage acute & chronic medical conditions
• Provide health education & counseling
• Provide pediatric & adult patient care across the lifespan
• Provide treatment & ongoing management for Substance Use Disorders
• Provide Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) when appropriate
• Prescribe & dispense medications according to applicable regulations
• Consult & collaborate with physicians & healthcare team members
• Refer patients to specialty care, behavioral health & community resources
• Provide follow up & care coordination
• Support coverage across East Los Angeles clinic locations
• Provide care through the Mobile Health Unit as assigned
• Supervise Medical Assistants, Community Health Workers & assigned personnel
• Participate in case conferences, care management meetings & team huddles
• Support quality improvement, staff training & program initiatives
• Complete clinical documentation, coding & billing accurately and timely
Requirements
• Physician Assistant degree from an accredited program
• Current PA licensure applicable to practice in California
• Experience providing primary care services preferred
• Experience with Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) preferred
• Pediatric & adult care experience
• Substance Use Disorder care experience preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently & collaboratively
• Commitment to culturally & linguistically appropriate patient care
