Job Title: General Laborer

Job Description

This General Laborer role supports precast manufacturing and construction operations by preparing and finishing concrete products, maintaining a clean and safe facility, and performing a variety of hands-on tasks in an outdoor production environment. You will work with hand and power tools, assist with concrete form preparation and detailing, and contribute to the overall quality and efficiency of the production process.

Responsibilities

• Strip and clean concrete forms and finished concrete products to prepare them for reuse or shipment.
• Prepare steel molds for filling with concrete, including cleaning, assembling, and ensuring proper setup.
• Perform basic carpentry tasks related to form building, repair, and adjustment.
• Carry out facility maintenance and housekeeping to keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Use hand and power tools to complete production tasks such as cutting, measuring, and assembling materials.
• Measure materials accurately with a tape measure to ensure products meet specifications.
• Finish and detail fabricated precast concrete, including patching and smoothing stone edges, inspecting for defects, and applying paint stencils.
• Support general production activities in precast manufacturing and construction as directed by supervisors.
• Follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while working with tools, equipment, and concrete materials.
• Lift and move materials and products weighing up to 40 pounds periodically throughout the day.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, maintaining productivity and safety in heat, cold, and rain.
• Remain flexible with shift start times (5:00 a.m. or 6:00 a.m.) based on production demand.
• Take on additional responsibilities on a temporary or permanent basis as needed to support operations.

Essential Skills

• Experience in precast manufacturing environments.
• Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, heat, and cold.
• Ability to identify defects in concrete products and perform basic patching and finishing.
• Experience with finishing molds and detailing stone edges.
• Familiarity with applying paint stencils and other markings on finished products.
• Flexibility to work different early morning shifts (typically 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m. or 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.) based on production needs.
• Willingness to work long term in a production or precast team environment.

Work Environment

This role is based primarily outdoors in a precast manufacturing and construction yard, working Monday through Friday. Standard shifts run approximately 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m. or 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., with flexibility required depending on production demand. The first day typically starts at 7:00 a.m. You will work in all weather conditions, including rain, heat, and cold, and must be comfortable maintaining productivity and safety in this environment. The work involves regular use of hand and power tools, tape measures, steel molds, and concrete materials in an active production setting. The facility emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and teamwork, with a practical, task-focused dress code appropriate for outdoor, hands-on labor and exposure to concrete, dust, and varying temperatures.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
