Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This flexible, part-time contract (12-15 hours weekly) is perfect for professionals eager to share cutting-edge strategies and specialized knowledge, either virtually or in-person, in an innovative itinerant capacity.

Beginning August 10, 2026, you’ll play a crucial role by advising multiple school teams and helping them better meet the needs of students who are blind or visually impaired, especially during the critical early weeks of the school year. You’ll collaborate closely with school-based staff, delivering hands-on expertise in braille instruction, assistive technology, and accessible instructional strategies, all while supporting those working with students with complex needs. As staff build confidence and skills, your involvement will taper, ensuring sustainable, district-wide consistency and quality.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Florida Educator Certification required
• Experience teaching or supporting students who are visually impaired
• Expertise with braille, assistive technology, or accessibility tools
• Excellent communication and coaching skills for training diverse staff
• Willingness to complete fingerprint background clearance and secure a JLA badge prior to start
