About the Company We are representing a fast growing Series A company building technology in a space with real positive impact. The business is working on a product that supports a more sustainable future and is already backed by some of Germany’s leading investors. They are now moving into the next stage of growth and are looking for a Head of Engineering to help build the technical foundation that will allow the company to scale properly. This is a role for someone who wants to join a mission driven company at an important point in its journey. The product uses AI, but this is not a narrow AI role. The company needs a strong engineering leader who can set up the right infrastructure, improve technical delivery, and help build a high quality engineering organisation around a product with real world impact. What You’ll Be Lead and grow the engineering function as the company scales after Series A Set up and improve the technical infrastructure, architecture, and engineering processes Work closely with the founders and leadership team on product and technical strategy Build reliable, scalable systems that can support a fast growing AI enabled product Create the right engineering processes without adding unnecessary complexity Hire, develop, and lead a strong engineering team over time Make key decisions around platform design, infrastructure, tooling, and delivery Work across product, AI, data, and software engineering to ensure the company can scale efficiently Bring structure, technical clarity, and strong execution into a fast moving environment Why This Role Stands Out It’s a chance to join a Series A company at the point where the technical organisation needs to move from early stage execution into proper scale. Ideal Background Strong experience in engineering leadership within a startup or scale‑up environment Background building and scaling software products from an early stage Strong technical understanding across architecture, infrastructure, platform design, and production systems Experience working with AI enabled products, data driven products, or complex technical platforms Comfortable making technical decisions in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments Able to balance hands‑on technical depth with leadership, hiring, and team building Strong product mindset and the ability to work closely with founders and commercial teams Someone who cares about building technology with real world impact.
