Pulmonary Function Technician - Per Diem/Day Shift

Pulmonary Function TechnicianResponsible for performing pulmonary function tests on patients. This includes setting up and operating pulmonary function testing equipment, explaining the tests to patients, and collecting and analyzing data. The Pulmonary Function Technician will also be responsible for maintaining the pulmonary function testing equipment and ordering supplies. This position is part of the 1199SEIU Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. This position reports to the Clinical Manager, Respiratory Care and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.QualificationsAssociate's degree in respiratory care requiredRespiratory Therapist license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required.Experience with pulmonary function testing equipment 1 year preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Attention to detail.Ability to explain pulmonary function tests to patients.Ability to collect and analyze data from pulmonary function tests.Ability to maintain pulmonary function testing equipment.Essential Functions:Set up and operate pulmonary function testing equipment.Explain the tests too patients and obtain their informed consent.Collect and analyze date from the pulmonary function tests.Maintain the pulmonary function testing equipment and order supplies.Document pulmonary function test results.Communicate test results to physicians and other healthcare providers.Provide patient education and support.Performs other duties as assigned.Complies with all policies and standardsOnsite30 Locus Street- LANDPer DiemDay (United States of America)$36.78 - $51.14/HourlyEEO Statement:1910 Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
