Social Media Specialist

Position Summary The Social Media Specialist will manage Kroc Center social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, and support content creation for Church at The Kroc’s social media pages. The role works with the Marketing Team to plan engaging content and shoots. Required skills include photo and video editing with industry-standard software. The ideal candidate is collaborative, positive, detail-oriented, knowledgeable of current social media trends, and has 2-3 years of experience developing and implementing social media strategies. Experience using a mirrorless camera for indoor and outdoor photography and videography is required. Duties and Responsibilities Manage Kroc Center social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Work with the Marketing Team to plan engaging social media content. Collaborate with other departments to create content that engages all aspects of The Center. Coordinate and set up video and photo shoots. Work with the Ministry Department to manage Church at The Kroc social media account. Capture content and create posts that showcase Ministry offerings; attend Ministry meetings to stay updated on program information. Support the Development and Member Services Departments through social media to promote departmental, donor, and organizational goals. Embrace a narrative style of social media storytelling. Photograph and video events and programs assigned. Write copy for social media and other communications as needed. Schedule branded designs across various social media channels. Generate creative new ideas and concepts. Analyze content effectiveness and report on engagement/outcomes. Perform other assignments related to the Social Media Specialist position. General Qualifications and Proficiencies Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress in Marketing, Videography, Graphic Design, Communications, Public Relations, or equivalent experience preferred. Experience editing photos and videos to create crafted messages. Ability to use mirrorless and mobile cameras to create media. Fluency with Adobe Suite or DaVinci Resolve. Genuine interest and initiative in learning. Capability to take direction and ask clarifying questions. Excellent interaction and phone skills; ability to communicate effectively and accurately. Professional demeanor in all job responsibilities. Demonstrated typing and organizational skills. Professional interaction with media, the public, and Salvation Army staff. Ability to pass a criminal background check. May be required to work weekends and evenings. Valid driver’s license and insured transportation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Physical Requirements Ability to kneel, squat, bend, lift, climb, and stand for prolonged periods. Ability to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
