About the Role
Join a small engineering team building agentic systems for an AI-native legal services business. In this founding-level role, you will work across the stack to deliver reliable tools used by lawyers in their daily work.
What You'll Do
Build and improve agentic systems, including agent harnesses, evaluations, and user interfaces designed for reliable legal workflows.
Ship full-stack features from database to UI, including client-facing products, lawyer workspaces, review queues, document comparison tools, agent chat, and operations dashboards.
Develop integrations with messaging, email, document, e-signature, and billing platforms.
Improve observability, evaluations, and infrastructure to support trustworthy agents at scale.
Work directly with lawyers to scope problems, deliver solutions, and incorporate feedback.
What We're Looking For
Three to seven years of full-stack engineering experience, including maintaining and evolving production SaaS applications beyond the prototype stage.
Strong experience with TypeScript, React, Next.js, tRPC, Node.js, PostgreSQL, AWS, and Temporal.
Experience building and deploying production agentic systems across interfaces, integrations, and agent infrastructure.
Ability to review and maintain technical control over AI-generated code.
Experience in high-growth, venture-backed environments and working directly with users to define technical solutions.
A STEM or computer science degree and strong engineering fundamentals.
Legal technology or other regulated-industry experience, plus backend observability experience, is helpful.
Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary is $180,000 to $250,000 annually, with equity of 0.1% to 0.6%. Visa sponsorship is not available.
