Skills Institutes Program Assistant (Student)

Position Overview This 10‑hour per week part‑time position supports the Skills Institutes in the School of International Service. The role involves faculty and student support, troubleshooting technology, and program assessment for weekend courses aimed at graduate students in international affairs. Skills Institutes information. Key Responsibilities Support Skills Institute faculty during and prior to course instruction. Assist students with technological issues and access challenges. Collect and analyze student survey data for program assessment. Position Details Part‑time, 10 hours per week, weekends (Saturday and Sunday) only. Hourly rate: $18.40 – $19.50 per hour. Non‑Exempt FLSA status. Required to be an enrolled American University student. Qualifications Previous experience with events, professional communications, research, and/or evaluation. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in international affairs or education. Experience working in higher education. Demonstrated interest in experiential education. Additional Eligibility Regular weekend work required (Saturday and Sunday).
