Title: Staff Accountant

Location : Schaumburg, Illinois

Assignment Type: 3-month contract with the possibility of extensions

Compensation: $35.00 - $40.00 / Hourly depending on relevant experience

We're looking for a Staff Accountant with 3–5 years of experience to join our collaborative and growing finance team. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
• Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Analyze financial data and investigate variances.
• Support financial statement preparation and reporting.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and calculate depreciation.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Process and review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2 plus years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate accounting environment.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Experience with fixed asset accounting and depreciation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, or similar.
