The installation, maintenance, support, and monitoring of the network infrastructure will be performed. Candidates must have solid background supporting networks and have an active US Secret Security Clearance to be considered. This role is in Tucson, AZ and the role will be onsite at our facilities there, to work in classified computing areas (Relocation Eligible). This role is in Proprietary Program Areas, many of which require Special Access (SAP or Special Access Programs).What you will Do:Maintains smooth operation of voice and data networks. Plans, evaluates, coordinates, and performs installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network.Work in developing technical expertise in all areas of voice and data networks hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as switches, routers, firewalls, authentication servers, encryptors etc.Work with network management software platforms.May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings aligning with future requirements factoring in redundancy and required network uptime.Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions, technical diagrams, and other documentation. Where no documentation exists, assist in developing documentation.Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.Assist with coordination of third-party maintenance for network equipment or with vendors for third-party support.Willingness and availability to work outside normal business hours (evenings and weekends) as needed.Must be able to work with general supervision and follow established procedures.What you will Learn:You will apply your Network Engineering skills to defense-oriented programs.Obtain Certifications in Security+ within 6 months and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is highly desired within a year.Qualifications You Must Have:Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related fieldExperience in configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and/or intrusion detection systems, including software upgrades.Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
