Seasonal Adventure Guide Position Title: Adventure Guide Business Unit: Mountain Operations - Activities Position Reports to: Assistant Manager Activities Location: Crystal Mountain, Washington Compensation: $20-$24/hour D.O.E. Job Summary As an Adventure Guide at Crystal Mountain, you will motivate, delight, and guide our guests on daily adventures throughout the Crystal Mountain great outdoors. You will commit to providing excellent experiences and memories of a lifetime. Primary activities include our aerial adventure course, climbing wall, and mining sluice. Other guided activities may support our group sales and events teams as applicable. Essential Duties Lead guests on outdoor excursions, including guided interpretive hikes, aerial ropes course, and other activities as assigned. Help conduct routine maintenance and inspection of the aerial ropes course. Perform general maintenance tasks including trail work, sign making, and supporting other department projects. Respond to customer concerns and questions. Contribute to a positive working environment. Maintain a safe, healthy, and secure working environment. Promote and ensure safe practices using all required PPE and adhering to proper safety protocols in all activities. Inspect equipment for safety concerns. Promote and market activity options to our guests. Help oversee stock levels and alert management when supplies are needed. Attend daily pre-shift meetings and necessary trainings. Gather guest feedback and recommend improvements to management. Establish pre-function side work and ensure all equipment is accounted for and in good condition, notifying the manager of any issues. Use and understand Points of Sale. Promote and maintain a high level of customer service by anticipating guests' needs. Resolve guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refer the matter to management and notify supervisor of unusual events. Develop and maintain an organizational culture, values, and reputation with staff and guests. Ensure a positive, harmonious, compliant, and cooperative work environment. Act as a representative of Crystal Mountain with guests and community members. Abide by all Crystal Mountain employment guidelines. Off-mountain shifts supporting group sales & events may be required occasionally. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements Basic First Aid & CPR Required. EMT/WFR/WFA certification preferred. All guides must complete mandatory Aerial Course training in spring. High energy, positive attitude, and excellent communication skills. Basic knowledge of P.O.S. systems. Physical Demands and Working Conditions Position requires work evenings, weekends, and holidays while operating. Must be able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position at least 50 pounds occasionally. Comfortable working at heights; must use full body harness and navigate aerial challenge course. Must climb, balance, and navigate all elements of aerial ropes course. Auditory and visual acuity to operate radios, mobile devices, and basic outdoor equipment constantly. Ability to work extended periods standing, walking, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Manual dexterity to operate technical equipment on aerial ropes course. Ability to work extended periods bending, reaching, and speaking constantly. Constant communication: listening and responding with proper customer service.
