Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Delivery Manager to oversee delivery operations, driver performance, safety, routing, and productivity for an assigned area. The ideal candidate will be a strong people leader with experience in delivery, distribution, fleet, or beverage operations and the ability to coach teams while driving operational results.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily delivery operations, routes, drivers, and Area Delivery Managers .
• Recruit, interview, onboard, train, coach, and develop delivery personnel.
• Communicate company goals, expectations, performance standards, and deadlines.
• Monitor KPI performance, productivity, shrink, and overall operations , and implement improvement plans.
• Manage accident reporting and ensure compliance with company safety policies, DOT requirements, and internal audits .
• Conduct weekly safety meetings and ensure drivers are trained in safe operating practices.
• Perform and oversee daily pre-trip/post-trip and weekly truck inspections .
• Ensure trucks, pallet jacks, hand trucks, printers, sleds, and other delivery equipment are properly maintained and assigned.
• Manage driver hours and ensure compliance with the 14-Hour Rule .
• Schedule and allocate relief drivers to ensure all routes are covered.
• Perform dynamic routing adjustments when necessary to improve delivery efficiency.
• Maintain uniform standards and ensure employees follow company policies.
• Work closely with Sales, Warehouse, and Fleet Maintenance teams.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve operational issues effectively.
• Participate in management meetings, company meetings, seminars, and required training programs.
• Develop strong knowledge of the company's complete product portfolio.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Organizational Management, or a related field.
• Candidates with some college coursework may be considered with 5–10 years of significant delivery management experience .
• Minimum 60 months of a clean and valid driver's license .
• Ability to obtain and maintain an ABC permit for the distribution of alcoholic products.
• Experience in delivery, distribution, transportation, fleet, beverage, or related operations preferred.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn/use Encompass software .
• Knowledge of DOT and safety requirements .

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This is an on-site, field-oriented position involving regular exposure to vehicles, traffic, moving mechanical equipment, and customer locations. The role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform other physical activities necessary to support delivery operations.
