Organization: Pharmacy Services Job Summary: Staff Pharmacists fill orders for medications, monitor patient medication therapy, and provide drug information. Staff Pharmacists supervise and direct support personnel. Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities. Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals. Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions. Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital is hiring a Staff Pharmacist PRN for weekend coverage! Position Highlights Must be available to work at least one, and preferably two, weekends per month, including both Saturday and Sunday. Must be able to participate in on-call shifts (6-8 days per month). Pharmacy hours of operation are Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm and Saturday and Sunday 8:00am - 1:00pm. Hospital experience including compounding is preferred but not required. This is an inpatient operational focused pharmacist position. Will include outpatient infusions as well. Key Responsibilities Reviews, prepares, and dispenses medications according to accepted standards of practice. Actively participates in all clinical activities within the department and/or facility to include but not be limited to: (1) Patient and/or staff education regarding medication(s) (2) Documented interventions within the real time clinical surveillance system as deemed appropriate. Effectively manages departmental resources. Provides quality, patient-specific drug information and recommendations to health care workers and patients.
