Valet Attendant ($13.50-$15.50/hr + tips) - Hotel Viking

Job Summary The Guest Experience Associate is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner. The role includes parking and retrieving guest vehicles promptly and safely, and assisting guests with luggage during arrival and departure. Compensation Hourly base pay: $13.50 per hour ($2 differential for shifts after 3pm) plus tips. Work Schedule: Open availability. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Work is primarily outdoors for extended periods, including exposure to extreme heat, cold, and weather changes. Physical demands include: Regularly speaking or hearing Frequent sitting or standing; running or walking; handling objects and tools; reaching, climbing stairs; balance; stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling Visual tasks: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, focus adjustment Lifting: up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, 20 lbs continuously Travel: up to 5% may be required. Responsibilities Maintain a pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, coworkers, and clients. Greet guests within five feet, using their last names, appropriate salutations, and welcoming them to the location. Practice proper phone etiquette. Park and retrieve vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously; open vehicle and hotel doors for guests. Assist guests with bell services and luggage storage. Conduct thorough room presentations and assist with room changes. Provide guests with directions, taxi, reservation, and other inquiries; share info about outlets, meeting rooms, facilities, and main attractions. Deliver messages, items, and/or guest amenities as requested. Shuttle guests to approved locations. Explain parking rates and retrieval procedures on arrival. Issue claim checks after obtaining vehicle keys and collect claim checks before returning keys. Complete and maintain ticket information including key tag, guest folio, vehicle location, and damage survey. Record location on key tags after parking vehicles. Calculate and collect revenue for vehicles when required. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old and possess: High school diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license (state where applying or commutable distance). One month related experience or equivalent education/experience. Knowledge of customer and personal service principles. Ability to read/write simple correspondence and comprehend instructions. Basic math skills and monetary unit operations up to 1000. Understanding of 24‑hour and military time systems. Understanding of rate calculations for time. Desirable: manual transmission operation and parallel parking. Authority to act within operational guidelines; job is routine; decisions made within specific instructions; errors could affect department efficiency.
