Executive Director, Global Medical Operations

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks an Executive Director to design and lead Global Medical Evidence Generation Operations, overseeing approximately 50 staff across oncology, hematology, immunology, cardiovascular, and neuroscience studies. This builder role requires establishing a fit-for-purpose operational model, governance framework, and organizational structure to deliver medical studies at scale across multiple therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities

• Design enterprise-wide operational strategy and organizational architecture for medical study execution
• Build medical-specific operational frameworks tailored to interventional, observational, and externally-sponsored studies
• Establish governance and compliance frameworks aligned with global regulations and internal standards
• Provide senior oversight of study operations across full lifecycle and portfolio risk mitigation
• Represent MEG Operations on senior leadership team and drive strategic alignment with medical priorities

Requirements

• Proven experience building and scaling operational organizations in pharma or biotech
• Deep knowledge of global clinical trial regulations, GCP, and ICH guidelines
• Track record leading large teams in complex, matrixed environments
• Understanding of medical evidence generation distinct from drug development operations
• Expertise in study lifecycle management across interventional and non-interventional modalities
• Experience with CRO and vendor partnership oversight
• Strong strategic leadership and change management capabilities
