WE OFFER:

• Compensation: Competitive salary and bonus eligibility.
• Work Environment: Onsite, in Lafayette.
• Work Schedule: Typically, Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM EST, with on-call responsibilities as needed to support operational needs and program coverage.
• Travel Requirement: Approximately 50% travel throughout Lafayette and Kokomo areas.

***This position will be overseeing programs within the Lafayette/Kokomo, IN area***

As the Director of IDD Residential Services (Area Director), you’ll lead a regional portfolio of residential services and play a key role in shaping what comes next for Dungarvin. You’ll have the opportunity to strengthen teams, develop leaders, and bring consistency and stability to programs while helping guide the organization through an exciting period of growth and change. 

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity where you’ll influence people, culture, operations, and growth. Working closely with Area Managers, Program Directors, and state leadership, you’ll help teams navigate change, adopt new processes, and build strong, sustainable programs while keeping the people we support at the center of every decision. 

WHAT YOU GET TO DO: 

• Lead & Develop: Build strong, engaged teams through coaching, accountability, talent development, recruitment, and retention while strengthening leadership capabilities across the region. 

• Lead Through Change: Guide teams through organizational transitions, communicate change effectively, support adoption of new processes, and help maintain stability and engagement.

• Drive Performance: Monitor budgets, staffing, expenses, and key performance indicators to strengthen operational stability, resource management, and program performance. 

• Champion Quality & Compliance: Ensure services meet regulatory, licensing, Medicaid Waiver, HCBS, and organizational requirements while promoting consistent, person-centered service delivery. 

MUST HAVE: 

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field required, (Psychology, Counseling, Sociology, Allied Health, Special Education, etc).

• Human Services Experience: 5+ years of experience of supporting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental disabilities (IDD / DD), including direct experience overseeing residential services, group homes, Day programs or community-based programs required. 

• Leadership Experience: 2+ years of progressive leadership experience developing staff, driving accountability, resolving operational challenges, and achieving quality, operational, and financial goals.  

• Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of Indiana FSSA/BDDS requirements, IDD services, HCBS/CIH and Medicaid Waiver programs, state licensing requirements, CMS standards, and compliance and quality assurance practices in accordance with IDOH and CARF standards.

• Technology & Data Analytics: Proficient with Microsoft 365 and operational reporting systems, with the ability to use Power BI dashboards and data to monitor trends, track outcomes, and support program performance.

• License & Transportation: Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets agency insurance requirements. 

NICE TO HAVE: 

• Process Improvement & Change Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to adapt to organizational change, support evolving processes and workflows, and help foster team stability, service quality, and operational consistency during periods of transition. 

• Financial & Operational Management: Experience managing and supporting budgets of $5M+, monitoring P&L performance, assisting with forecasting, labor management, and resource allocation.

• Person-Centered & Business Acumen: Balances the rights, goals, and needs of individuals served with financial, staffing, and operational priorities to support sustainable, high-quality services.
