Overview Kerry's Car Care (part of the Sun Auto Network) is a multi-location business offering preventive maintenance, vehicle diagnostics, and automotive repairs. General Service Technician is responsible for conducting non-technical automotive service repairs such as oil changes, tire and wheel related services, light vehicle maintenance. The role also includes driving customers, picking up parts, and maintaining cleanliness of the shop as needed. Perform oil changes and other basic services. Utilize the company’s Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order to properly document the vehicle condition. Maintain cleanliness of the shop, including service area, tire racks, showroom, and exterior. Drive vehicles safely and courteously, obeying all traffic laws. Transport customers and pick up parts, supplies, tires, etc., from vendors or corporate office using company vehicle. Conduct State Safety and Emission Inspections (where applicable) in an ethical manner following all company and state guidelines. Follow all safety procedures and report concerns to direct supervisor. Work flexible schedules, including weekends as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisor. Adhere to Sun Auto’s core values, policies, and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Qualifications Valid driver’s license. Must be at least 18 years of age. General understanding of under-the-hood, mechanical, and under-carriage assemblies is preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Working Conditions and Physical Demands The General Service Technician will be exposed to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The temperature in the work environment varies and may include extreme heat or cold depending on ambient conditions. Personal protective equipment such as safety goggles may be required. Stand up to eight hours per day in the shop and be able to walk to access various areas. Bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly; have full range of motion with arms and hands. Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly; lift and/or move up to 70 pounds frequently. Communicate effectively with customers and shop personnel.
