Summary:

Our award-winning client is seeking a Lead Engineer to join their team. As the Lead Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with major material and equipment suppliers to launch and optimize operating lines in the United States. Your primary responsibilities will include designing and developing wet-process PE lithium-ion battery separator coating processes, overseeing tooling for coating lines, and working closely with suppliers on approved manufacturing formulations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop comprehensive coating run instructions and procedures, ensuring seamless implementation on-site.
• Assess coating and test equipment manufacturing capabilities, recommending upgrades, modifications, or improvements as needed.
• Document production solutions and establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for coating and slitting processes.
• Create easily understood procedural methods for new equipment.
• Identify causes and implement corrective procedures for failed coating runs.
• Ensure timely completion and delivery of specific projects.
• Verify that design concepts align with customer specifications and are manufacturable.
• Provide leadership, work direction, and training to support personnel.
• Establish standards for productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with customers to resolve complex custom designs and technical issues.
• Implement and uphold IATF 16949 quality system standards.
• Train and educate personnel on job processes and maintenance procedures related to machines, materials, and process techniques.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with relevant industry work experience.
• Essential experience in startup or major plant expansion projects.
• Knowledge of coating equipment technologies, with expertise in microgravity and spray coating being ideal.
• Ability to multitask, professionally handle multiple projects, and engage stakeholders effectively.
• Proven capability to resolve unforeseen issues and adjust plans promptly.
• Excellent communication skills, adapting information for internal and external audiences.
• Develop, adjust, execute, and monitor supply and production plans.
• Effectively balance competing priorities and production scheduling to meet customer orders.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
