Career Opportunities: Food & Safety Manager (43403) Job Reference Number: 43403 Employment Type: Full-Time , Remote Segment: Education Brand: Elior-Collegiate-Dining Location: Clayton State University The Role at a glance: *This is a traveling position based out of Clayton State but will support the Georgia BOR accounts under Elior Collegiate Dining. The Food & Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the implementation, adherence, and continuous improvement of both food safety and physical safety protocols for Collegiate Campuses across the State of Georgia. This role requires a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements, food safety compliance, and safety best practices to safeguard the well‑being of our customers and team members. What you'll be doing: Food Safety: Ensure proper compliance with corporate food safety programs as required by local, state, and federal regulations. Prepare units for the health department and third‑party audits and support any corrective action or continuous improvement tasks as needed. Monitor food safety log and SOP compliance. Ensure the development and delivery of food safety training programs for employees, ensuring proper handling, storage, and processing of food products. Monitor completion of internal MyFieldAudits and follow up on corrective actions. Investigate food safety incidents, conduct a root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Physical Safety: Ensure proper compliance with corporate physical safety programs to reduce workplace hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulations. Training Delivery – Ensure training on health and safety management topics to leadership & new managers on implementing safety programs. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including production, maintenance, and human resources, to ensure seamless integration of safety programs. Monitor reports on food and physical safety performance metrics, trends, and improvement initiatives to senior management and segment safety. Attend client and operational meetings as and when required to support the effective implementation of work‑based food and physical safety solutions. Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to food and physical safety. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of safety programs and reduce risk. Promote a culture of safety and accountability throughout the organization. What we're looking for: Bachelor’s degree in food science, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in food safety with a knowledge of workplace safety standards, preferably in hospitality or food production environment *Combination of education and experience will be considered. Strong knowledge of HACCP, FDA Food Code, OSHA, and other relevant regulations. Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Certification in food safety (e.g., HACCP, ServSafe) Requirements: Ability to work in a food production environment, including exposure to cold, heat, and other elements. 50% Travel to support the Georgia BOR accounts Where you'll be working: This role will be based out of Clayton State but will support the Georgia BOR accounts under Elior Collegiate Dining.
