The Senior Secretary supports the executive director and operations of the Board of Technical Professions (Board). This position is responsible for:

• Handling administrative office operations for the Board office.
• Serving as the primary contact point for the general public and licensees, including handling all inquiries and providing guidance on Board policies and procedures, as needed.

Handling Board office secretarial and high-level clerical support functions, such as:

• reviewing and processing all payments, invoices, and general accounting;
• preparing Board vouchers;
• reviewing, processing, and routing all initial Board office correspondence;
• maintaining Board records;
• maintaining filing systems;
• generating and maintaining computerized files;
• maintaining databases;
• other tasks as assigned.

This is a Full-Time 40 Hours Weekly position with the Department of Labor and Regulation - Labor and Management - Board of Technical Professions. For more information, please visit .

Licenses and Certifications:
This position may be tasked with becoming a notary public for the Board office.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Prior clerical experience working in an office setting, preferably at an advanced level.

Knowledge of:

• business English including grammar, spelling, and punctuation;
• modern office equipment, practices, and procedures;
• bookkeeping methods.

Skill in:

• keyboarding;
• general computer use;
• general office software, including MS Office Suite;
• use of computer databases;
• attention to detail;
• general office accounting procedures;
• office procedures;
• written and verbal communication.

Ability to:

• type accurately;
• communicate in a concise and effective manner;
• read and comprehend written materials;
• proofread and edit correspondence of varying types;
• accurately record, file, and transmit information;
• accomplish assigned professional tasks;
• organize and coordinate activities;
• exercise tact, patience, and discretion in communicating and dealing with persons of varying backgrounds and temperament.
