We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) to provide counseling and emotional support to patients and their families throughout the cancer care continuum. This position plays a critical role in helping patients navigate the psychological, emotional, and social challenges associated with diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and end-of-life planning. The LICSW partners with an interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care rooted in empathy, collaboration, and clinical excellence. As a small nimble team, this role will also support care navigation duties to provide resource connection throughout the cancer treatment journey.Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:Provide individual, family, and group counseling to address emotional distress, anxiety, depression, grief, and adjustment to illnessDeliver crisis intervention and short-term supportive counseling as neededConduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop individualized care plansUse evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, ACT, supportive psychotherapy) tailored to oncology patientsSupport decision-making around treatment, survivorship, and end-of-life careCollaborate with oncology providers, nurses, navigators, and behavioral health team members to ensure whole-person careParticipate in multidisciplinary case reviews, tumor boards, and team roundsEducate patients and caregivers on coping strategies, stress management, and mental wellnessFacilitate or support group interventions, workshops, or wellness initiatives for patients and familiesDocument all patient interactions and interventions in the EMR clearly, accurately, and in a timely mannerEnsure compliance with all ethical, licensure, and regulatory standardsEngage in continuing education and participate in quality improvement initiativesSupport care navigation requests for patientsThis role will report to the Clinic Supervisor.Required Qualifications:Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institutionActive LICSW license in the state of TennesseeMinimum of 2 years of counseling experience in a healthcare settingProficiency in therapeutic modalities applicable to psychosocial oncology careExcellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skillsAbility to navigate sensitive clinical situations with compassion and professionalismComfort with change, process improvement, and working in a start-up or growing organizationPreferred Qualifications:Certification in Oncology Social Work (OSW-C) or similar specializationExperience working with oncology, palliative care, or chronic illness populationsExperience leading or facilitating support groups or workshopsBilingual or multilingual skills preferred but not requiredExperience working with diverse populations and an understanding of health disparitiesExperience with athenahealthSome of the benefits of our comprehensive benefits package includes:Health, Dental, Vision insuranceCompetitive payPaid vacation, holidays, and sick leaveAtlas is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
