Position Overview:

Apex Skin is a physician-led and rapidly growing dermatology practice committed to delivering exceptional patient experiences. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Practice Manager for our Canton A & B locations. The Practice Manager is responsible for the overall management and performance of the practice, including operations, staffing, financial oversight, compliance, patient experience, and business performance. This position provides leadership across administrative and clinical functions to ensure efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and exceptional patient care.

In this role, you will lead a high-performing team while overseeing the day-to-day operations of a busy, multi-provider practice. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and results-driven leader who is passionate about improving operational efficiency, supporting team development, and ensuring every patient receives outstanding care from check-in through follow-up.

Schedule:

Full-time, [5 days per week]

Monday - Friday and one Saturday per month, as needed for patient scheduling

Daytime clinical hours with occasional variations based on provider or patient needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead overall practice operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and exceptional patient care
• Serve as the primary operational partner to providers, Clinical Supervisors, the Regional Manager, and organizational leadership
• Lead and manage clinical and administrative staff, including hiring, onboarding, development, performance management, and retention
• Foster a high-performing culture through effective communication, coaching, accountability, and team engagement
• Drive practice performance through effective management of operational, financial, and quality metrics
• Analyze performance data and implement improvement plans to achieve organizational goals
• Oversee staffing, workforce planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to support operational and patient care needs
• Optimize patient access, scheduling efficiency, provider utilization, and workflow performance
• Maintain responsibility for practice financial performance, including budgeting, expense management, and operational resources
• Monitor revenue cycle performance and partner with appropriate teams to address variances and improve outcomes
• Ensure timely completion of provider documentation, messaging, laboratory, and pathology workflows
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, MIPS, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies and procedures
• Monitor operational dashboards, chart audits, and key performance indicators; communicate trends and recommendations to leadership
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs
• Ensure effective onboarding, training, competency validation, and professional development programs for staff
• Oversee operational resources, inventory management, and vendor relationships to support efficient practice operations
• Address escalated patient concerns and champion a positive patient experience
• Partner with leadership to support strategic initiatives, provider integration, practice growth, and business development opportunities
• Manage employee relations matters, including performance improvement, corrective action, and career development
• Travel between office locations as needed to support business operations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of healthcare operations, medical practice, or healthcare management experience required
• Minimum 2 years of progressive leadership or management experience required
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
• Strong financial acumen with demonstrated experience in revenue cycle management and insurance operations
• Advanced communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills
• Proficiency with EHR systems, Microsoft Office (including Excel), and reporting tools
• Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze metrics and implement operational improvements
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a clinical certification (LPN, CMA) preferred

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, with frequent standing, walking, and movement within the office
• Manual dexterity for typing, data entry, and handling office equipment
• Ability to speak clearly, hear callers, and interact with patients in person
• Visual acuity sufficient to read patient information and EMR screens
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds (e.g., office supplies)
• Work performed in a professional medical office setting with regular interaction with patients, providers, and staff
• Fast-paced environment requiring multitasking, attention to detail, and calm communication
• Exposure to cleaning supplies, office equipment, and moderate noise levels
• Must adhere to all health and safety policies, including infection control standards

Employee Health & Safety Requirements:

All patient-facing employees are required to provide proof of a TB test within the past 12 months and an annual flu vaccination as part of Apex Skin's employee health and safety protocols. The Hepatitis B vaccination series is also strongly recommended for clinical staff due to potential occupational exposure risks.
