Assistant or Associate Professor of Instruction in Human Resource Development & Learning in Organizations Position Description Department of Counseling, Leadership, Adult Education, and School Psychology (CLAS) in the College of Education at Texas State University invites applications for a non‑tenure‑earning Assistant or Associate Professor of Instruction position of Human Resource Development & Learning in Organizations. The role includes teaching, research, service, and program support within a vibrant Bachelor’s degree program in Central Texas. Specific responsibilities include teaching courses in Human Resource Development and providing service to the program, department, university, and profession. Program The Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Development & Learning in Organizations prepares students for careers in training, talent development, career development, organizational development, and related areas. The successful candidate will teach core courses including: ADED 4322. Foundations of Human Resources Development ADED 4321. Introduction to Adult Learning ADED 3305. Career Development in Human Resource Development ADED 4330. Adult Education Program Planning and Management ADED 3344. Multicultural Perspectives in Adult Learning and Human Resource Development ADED 4343. Organization Development Candidate will be headquartered on the San Marcos campus. Department CLAS Department serves approximately 1,100 students and supports significant transformational change in communities, schools, and organizations. Required Qualifications Assistant Professor rank: Earned doctorate in Human Resource Development, Adult Education, or related field by employment date. Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching. Demonstrated record of excellence in service at university, college, department, program, professional, and/or community levels. Evidence of potential for continued growth. Associate Professor rank: Earned doctorate in Human Resource Development, Adult Education, or related field by employment date. Five or more years of full‑time experience teaching in higher education. Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching. Demonstrated record of excellence in service at university, college, department, program, professional, and/or community levels. Evidence of potential for increased leadership in teaching and instructional activities. Demonstrated record of developing course content. Preferred Qualifications Assistant Professor rank: Preparedness to teach core courses such as the listed ADED courses. Professional experience as a practitioner in training, organization development, career development, or related areas. Record of, or potential for, research in adult education or human resource development with publication. Record of, or potential for, securing external grants, contracts, or other revenue sources. Experience in writing/developing online academic courses and programs. Ability to advise undergraduate students in the HRD program. Ability to articulate a vision for growth of HRD programs at Texas State University. Associate Professor rank: Experience teaching core courses as listed. Professional experience as a practitioner in training, organization development, career development, or related areas. Documented record of sustained research and publication in adult education or human resource development. Documented record of seeking and securing external grants, contracts, and other revenue sources. Experience in writing/developing online academic courses and programs. Experience advising undergraduate students. Pattern of attending conferences related to adult education, human resource development, and effective teaching. Awards or recognition for excellence in teaching. Ability to articulate a vision for growth of HRD programs at Texas State University.
